The 2018-2019 school year will be my fourth year as a resource teacher and my twelfth year at Fern Bluff. I taught 3rd grade at Fern Bluff for eight years before switching to Resource. I am so thankful to have the opportunity to teach at a school with such amazing parents and students! I grew up in Farmersville, TX, a small town northeast of Dallas, TX. I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher. When I was in 1st grade I decided I wanted to be a teacher, and I never once changed my mind! I love the learning process, and I love seeing the growth in students from the beginning of the year to the end of the year. I hope to instill a passion for learning in each one of my students, and I hope to impact each student in a positive way.
I graduated from Baylor University in 2007. I received my Bachelor of Science in Education degree with a specialization in Gifted and Talented, and I also minored in music. I graduated with my Masters in Educational Leadership at Texas State University in 2014.
My husband, Kyle, plays trumpet in the Austin Symphony Orchestra. We have a daughter, Kaitlyn, who will be four in November and a son, Kaleb who will turn one in August. We have one dog named Molly. Things I love include spending time with my husband, family, and close friends, reading, Baylor (sic 'em bears!!), shopping, coffee, doing anything outdoors, and of course, children and teaching!
I believe it is important to communicate and collaborate in order for my students to be successful. Please feel free to contact me anytime you have a question or a concern. I am looking forward to a fantastic year!
